Properties
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a high-foaming anionic surfactant derived from lauryl alcohol via sulfation and neutralization. It is an excellent detergent, emulsifier, and foaming agent with strong degreasing properties. SLS is widely used in personal care products, toothpaste, industrial cleaners, and as an emulsifier in polymerization processes.
Application
- Personal Care: Toothpaste (primary foaming agent), shampoos, facial cleansers, soap bars.
- Household & I&I: Heavy-duty cleaners, carpet shampoos, hard surface cleaners, car wash products.
- Industrial: Emulsion polymerization (as primary emulsifier), textile processing, leather auxiliaries, firefighting foams.
